The conference puts the life of Roma and Sinti women and the exchange between women’s groups at the focus of attention. Workshops, public discussions and art projects thematize the marginal situation of Roma and Sinti in society as well as the traditionally subordinate role of women in culture. The aim is to uncover the stereotypes imposed from the outside and the clichés inherent in the Roma community, to make the women participants aware of their rights and to promote the influence and co-operation between Roma and non-Roma women’s groups. Ten speakers from Croatia, the Czech Republic, Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegowina, Serbia and Austria will lead the workshops.
