Two of the most important Linz cultural institutions, the Stadtwerkstatt and Free Radio FRO, are shifting their activities from the city centre to the satellite town of Auwiesen for the duration of the festival, thus seeking to extend their radius of action. In the force-field between autonomous cultural work and social service-provider a vacant pavilion at one of the central places on location has been occupied and the search for collaborative projects with local partners initiated. The 24-day-long non-stop program at the Filiale during the festival comprises the entire spectrum of artistic and socio-cultural work of the two organizations: workshops, concert programs, club events, art in public space, media practices and activist performance will be offered along with a bar, an open stage and projects in collaboration with the neighbouring youth centre. Radio FRO is transmitting its entire program during the festival from its temporary location in Auwiesen. There is a special focus on the deployment of artistic and documentary strategies to thematize and discuss the realities of local life. Apart from the convenient location between the shopping centre and the citizens' centre, the Filiale will be active and mobile throughout the satellite town.
