The other side

Collaborative project between solarCity schools and a centre for homeless men in a neighbouring community
Linz Stadt Social intervention

Not far from solarCity, which has been newly built and is inhabited by young families, in the locality of Asten, is situated Hartlauerhof, a residential and guidance centre for homeless men. A collaborative project with one class each from solarCity High School and Primary School 52 of solarCity brings the pupils into contact with the lived reality of residents at the facility. Communicating one's own life story will be used as a reinforcing experience. Joint activities such as training for making improvised places to sleep, the operation of a soup kitchen or walks together outdoors are planned. The temporary interlinking of life-worlds offers the opportunity for questioning a fragile social normality situated between security, social balance and their jeopardizing.
