Destination By-Pass

Einheimische intervenieren in den Transit-Verkehr indem sie ihn lokal umleiten

By-pass is the English word for detour. Since the now finished expressway circles around the settlements, the experiential worlds of residents and the experiential worlds of those passing through now meet only at the service station. During the festival, locals will try to join in the transit traffic, to accompany the travellers some way or to talk them into making a detour by means of individual enticements.

The grounds of the national service station St. Pankraz will thus become a transit place and stage for individual and collective desires of mobility. The project takes up the experiences and stories of locals and travellers and communicates their experiences through installations, documentation and performative elements.
