Festival of Regions announces Program Advisory Panel 2009

We are glad to announce the constitution of the Program Advisory Panel for the Festival of Regions 2009. the Program Advisory Panel advises the board and the director of the Festival of Regiones on the preliminary selection of proposals. The call for projects and additional information can be found at www.fdr.at. The deadline for project proposals ends on 20 April.

Jochen Becker
Jochen Becker is a critic, lecturer and curator based in Berlin. He is co-editor of Copyshop - Kunstpraxis & politische Öffentlichkeit and of the metrozones book series (2005), City of COOP: Buenos Aires/Rio de Janeiro (2004), Kabul/Teheran 1979ff (2006) and Architekturen auf Zeit (2006). Susanne Neuburger
Susanne Neuburger is a curator and art historian based in Vienna. Since 1983 she has been curator at the Museum of Modern Art, Ludwig Foundation, Vienna. Exhibitions, projects and texts on contemporary art and culture. Kathrin Rhomberg
Kathrin Rhomberg was born in 1963 in Bludenz. She studied History of Art, Classical Archaeology and Journalism in Salzburg. Since 1994 she has worked in the Vienna Secession as a curator and event organizer. After diverse commissions as a curator Rhomberg was one of the persons responsible for Manifesta 3 held in Ljubljana in 2000. From 2002 to 2007 she was the director of the Kölnischer Kunstverein (Cologne Art Association).

Festival of Regions
The Festival of Regions has been taking place biennially since 1993 at changing locations in the Austrian federal state of Upper Austria and, during this period, has developed into a contemporary focal event for current, site-specific art and culture. At the intersection of art and everyday life, the Festival‘s projects draw people and places into a critical engagement with social, political and artistic questions. It is organizedd by an independent association called the Festival of Regions in cooperation with Linz 2009 - European Capital Of Culture with support mainly from the State of Upper Austria, the Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture, the city of Linz and individual financial sponsors.
