Peek at the Locality 2008

During the period of the call for projects from the end of February to the beginning of April, the Festival of Regions is inviting prospective project submitters, in a five-part series of events called Peek at the Locality, to explore the location. As the guests of active local figures, observers invited by the Festival will explore suburbs with regard to their social, architectural and cultural structures. Visitors will have the opportunity to reflect upon the subject of the Festival directly in relation to the focal locations.

Auwiesen – meeting point Tuchfabrik, Schörgenhubstraße 38. Friday, February 22, 2008, 4 p.m.
Walk and talk with Helfried Hinterleitner (Cultural worker, Kleinmünchen), accompanied by Martin Fritz (Director, Festival of Regions). In cooperation with Kleinmünchner Kulturkreis.

solarCity – meeting point Stadtteilbüro, Heliosallee 84. Friday, February 29, 2008, 4 p.m.
Walk and talk with Dietburg Wilflingseder (Apothekerin, solarCity), accompanied by Peter Arlt (Sociologist, Linz). In cooperation with Stadtteilbüro solarCity.

solarCity – meeting point Lunaplatz. Friday, March 14, 2008, 4 p.m.
Walk and talk with Wolfgang Raab (OKIPS/Offene Kulturinitiative Pichling-solarCity), accompanied by Gabriele Heidecker (architecture communicator & cultural worker, Linz). In cooperation wit OKIPS.

Auwiesen – meeting point final stop tram line 1. Friday, March 28, 2008, 4 p.m.
Walk and talk with Martina Haberleitner (former director Youth Club Alpha, Auwiesen), accompanied by Veronika Weidinger (Journalist, Radio FM4). In cooperation with Youth Club Alpha.

Final walk – meeting point final stop tram line 1 / Auwiesen. Thursday, April 10, 2008, 5 p.m.
From Auwiesen to solarCity with members of the festival team and the board. With Manfred Carrington (Author „Der Süden von Linz“).

After each of the walks, there will be an informative discussion about the Festival of Regions and the current call for projects.
